This is definitely 5 stars, if there were more stars they would get it. Stopping in Bowling Green on the way home from Florida, last Sunday, most restaurants were closed and we found el rinconcito. None of the staff spoke much English. The food was exceptional and very authentic. I had carne asana, served with beans, rice and HOMEMADE a tortillas. The rice and beans were the best ever, meat was perfect and the homemade tortillas were to die for. This will be a must stop, whenever we are in Bowling Green.

This place should have more amazing reviews! Authentic Salvadoran food. Fresh tacos and the chicken tamales were so delicious. Everything was full of flavor. The chips and salsa were downed almost instantly. Kind employees giving good service. I will be back!

Authentic. Yelp recommendation. Yelp did not disappoint today. I got tacos, pupusas and tamales. The tamales were really unlike any I had ever eaten. I wasn't a fan of the taste and the ingredients used. BUT it was authentic, and the other menu items I did order were delicious. Its like a food truck in S. Nashville - but in a bricks and mortar building.

Just had dinner at this place after reading the great reviews and I have to say that I agree with them! I eat Mexican all the time, but have never had Salvadorean food. It was the same yet different and amazingly delightful! Everything is super authentic and fresh. The guacamole is amazing and the pupasas are delicious! The service was great as well. Will definitely visit agin when traveling through bowling green.

This place is excellent. The steak burrito, the chicken tamales and the papusas are beyond anything you will find In this town. It's all authentic and delicious.

We were a little hesitant about trying this place, but we're so glad we did! Delicious, fresh Mexican and Salavadorian food. The AWESOME pupusas (similar to an arepa, but softer, and served with a delicious cole-slaw like salad) are only $1 each, and they're very filling. Wonderful, fresh salsa, great guacamole, and excellent carne asada. The prices were extremely reasonable and there are several vegetarian options. We can't wait to go back to try their breakfast!

Delicious!!! I was travelling in BG and stopped for dinner here. The tacos are awesome and what a deal, under $2 each. I had a chicken taco, pork taco, and a shrimp and cheese pupusa. I wasn't crazy about the pupusa, but I think that's a personal taste thing, nothing against it. The cabbage and salsa served on the side when you order a pupusa is a nice touch.

Our family stopped here while driving through Kentucky. The atmosphere is not great, it's kind of sterile but don't let that deter you. The food was so fresh and we all loved our meal. This is authentic Mexican food, not tex mex. Its not greasy and covered in cheese. Our kids loved the cheese quesadillas and we enjoyed the tacos and tamales. If you are in the area, give it a try! Oh, and the waiter was just the sweetest.

The chips were GREAT, salsa was salty unfortunately. Lots of great looking things on the menu! Looks authentic. Dad got carne asada which was good, said the meat was kinda tough. Mom got nachos rinconcito which was AWESOME, and huge! Sister got quesadilla, realy good! I got a variety... Chicken taco, beef sopes, Cheese and shrimp & cheese and bean pupusas. Bean and cheese pupusa was great! Chicken tamale was good as well. I believe my favorite was the taco, they are small but only $1.45 and ingredients seem to be fresh! The beef on my sope was kinda tough as well... But I did like it. Overall good food, I definitely will be back.

Finally, a authentic Salvadorian restaurant. Flavorful and lots to choose from pupusas, tacos and tamales. Loved the chicken pupusas and tacos. Guacamole and fresh salsa. Salsa was a bit salty but good. Tamales Salvadorenos was very tasty. The empanadas milk were warm and sweet. My husband liked the bean empanadas because they were mildly salty sweet.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
